Obituary of Thomas R. Cory

Thomas R. Cory died at age 75 on May 28, 2022 in Salem, Oregon. Born in California, Tom lived all over the world as a child due to his father's diplomatic service. He returned to the U.S. for school as a teenager and graduated from Phillips Andover Academy. Tom earned his B.S. in aerospace engineering from Princeton University and his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles. After beginning his career at Adams, Duque & Hazeltine, he focused his legal practice on business litigation as in-house counsel for Bank of America then California Federal Bank. Tom’s greatest joy in life was long-distance running. He completed countless marathons, multiple 50-milers, and the Western States 100. He also loved dogs. Tom is survived by his daughter Stephanie Cory Gorris and long-time companion Carol Cohen. No formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Canine Partners for Life are welcomed.
